Excellent article in todays 'Daily Mail' about the role Environmentalist are playing in damaging the planet.

You can only agree with everything the author says, the whole AGW scare story is the biggest fraud in history and our children will pay dearly in more ways than one for this global warming folly.

All so very sad.

Andy, you may get your science from the Daily Mail and your name calling from that persistently deceptive journalist Mr Delingpole, I'll stick with what meteoroligist observe across the world observe.

When you have some alternative data post it here and we'll look at it.

Wrong answer.
Blaming the journalist for reporting widely held views is not a realistic response.

Reporting? Nope, spreading - like a dung spreader does. And, guess what? The idea is (as ever) some will stick...

Edit: oh, and he's got a book to sell as well. Reporting my ar

Well you are one of the rabid environmentalists he describes
It does concern me how much money is being squandered on trying to stop a problem that doesn't exist and wouldn't be a problem if it did.
There are far more useful things of an environmental nature deserving cash - that have been swept aside

Ahh, i didn't think it would be long before the ad homs start. What makes you want to call me 'rabid'. Do you know what the word means? You surely do. Do you really wish me to be like that? I think not....

Look, four, it matters not a jot to what is happening to the weather if you brand me a rabid environmentalist or not.

Now, like I asked Andy, put up some data you think is right or it will be clear to all viewing this that you simply seek do damage the reputations of those you have no data or argument to answer.

Right, good news is this 'rabid' bloke is going out and doesn't have to read any more of this thread for a while.

With all serious opinions aside regarding agw or it's effects.
I think this whole thing is noisey and about selling a book.
Simple as that.

It is hardly worth the effort of sensible debate in the above context.imo

Yes indeed, but not for the reasons you suggest.

Gullibility is a real problem - you ought to examine the motivations of the author and some of his weird views.

Oh, and which problem would that be?

Glad the world's future is riding on your in-depth scientific understanding, Four.

Quite early in the article the author repeats the factually incorrect assertion about no warming since 1997/98. This misleading statement seems to reappear in some form on a regular basis.

Here are a few brief facts: The most recent decade is the warmest in the record, the global temperature trend continues upwards, 2005 & 2010 are the 2 warmest years, 2011 is the warmest La Nina year.

None of which are incompatible with the evident lack of significant warming since about 1997.

Remind us what was significant about 1997?

How about that other favourite where the conference delegates are 'worrying' they might be forced to "Create a better world" when the theory might yet be proved wrong.. I know you like that one a lot.
Says it all really that the poster thinks it desirable that a closetted group consider themselves in a position to arrogantly decide what is better or not for humanity.
You couldn't make it up.

Yes, and it will keep being posted because that is the reality, whether you like it or not. Do you think I like it? Do you????

I would be absolutely delighted to see good solid evidence that the basis of the climatology developed this past 150 years is so much bullshit. Really, I would, and I have said the same to everyone I have clashed with over the years on the matter. But no, the evidence in favour of the science builds and builds, and the opposition gets ever-more political in nature. It says everything when people are straw-clutching at articles penned by Daily Mail hacks to back up their position.

Mike Mann's book about the harrassment he has dealt with will be out on Feb 9, folks. Some of you will enjoy it, some will suffer an allergic reaction and some will be enlightened and disgusted in equal measure. Having read it in advance, I can say that it is powerful stuff. See for yourselves in due course.....

Cheers - John
