Let's hope for another warm up towards end of the week... It'll make Autumn/Winter seem shorter ..although I did enjoy last Autumn/Winter, especially your video forecasts..saved the Mrs from being stranded again

Cheers Jonesey. A breezy max of 18.6c here today. A bit blustery with the odd shower but some useful sunshine in between. Winter is fast approaching..hopefully it won't be too long before the mention of frosts ! .

Yeah talking of frosts,  I don't remember having too many after Christmas, not total ground frosts anyway

Not wanting early frosts as I have a nice Erysimum that gives us colour in the Garden from around March till first frosts, Infact we had it in bloom till the first snowfall last Year which I think was around 30th Nov..I don't think we had an early frost before then here.

Aha! There it is! Now I can follow your thoughts once again. Cheers for that.

Really noticed that Tropical Air feel last night in bed.

It was very Muggy, had to leave the Window open but the noise of the Trees in the gusts were a nightmare, so loud kept me awake most of the Night

Cheers for the support guys.

The tropical air really is quite warm aloft, no lower than 16c again last night...I notice that the GFS are predicting thicknesses of 571 dam here in Kent for a time today. I think this figure is the highest weve had all summer !

23c should be achieved to the lee of high ground this afternoon when the sun comes out.

Which does explain Jiries and mine noticing how warm and muggy it is still feeling despiting the strong winds now that the sun is out.

But, I am wondering, is it the same thing that is responsible for the near-total lack of showers across England and Wales? I noticed in the past couple of days the WRF model has been suggesting very little in the way of any showers for today so I went along with it, but never figured out why.

It's an interesting point...I presume it is more to do with the mobility in the atmosphere and the warmth of air aloft that has restricted convection. Crisp convection normally relies on instability from cold uppers interacting with warm surface temps. I expect todays soundings have not had much of a steep thermal gradient at all.

Jonesey ...have PM'd you.

Cheers for that, and pretty much in line with my own thoughts for the week ahead.

But, have you been using an UV "black light" bulb for the lighting?

Yes Ian, it does look a bit dim. I think for the next one I shall turn the light up a bit more.

Just had a look at it, and I'm very impressed (and have bookmarked it)! Had the effect of making my own Cloud Master blog look like an amateur effort cobbled together in five minutes . . . actually, my blog IS an amateur effort that has been cobbled together in five minutes anyway!

You are welcome to "save as" some of my photos from my ongoing photography blog and stick that in your gallery section, if you wish.
