Couldn't stand Gary Neville as a player ... well, he DID play for Man Utd!!! However, he has surprised me as a pundit on Sky. He has always been fair and impartial in his analysis of the games featured, and despite his Manchester drawl is much more preferable to the egotistical Andy Gray -always too full of his own importance. And of course, Neville was able to offer insight into the modern game that few others could.
My God    I might even miss him!!!

Yes, because that doesn't apply to 99.9% of teams in the football leagues does it? Let alone the fact most have only ever known 'thin.' So who's more deserving? I've nothing against Man City, but it's bollox like this that makes people hate clubs.

The biggest issue is that they've had to live in the shadow of their neighbours & bitter rivals. Playing second fiddle is 'orrible. Scum-U have always had the media kissing their arse, and recent hot streak of trophies came at a time when City lurched from one crisis to another. Don't forget that City have had more than their fair share of false dawns, too. I remember the Franny Lee consortium promising the moon on a stick, then delivering sod all. Later came that dodgy Shinawatara bloke. Sven was brought in, then bought about 20 players out of a catalogue. All this time, the Scum-U fans took the p*ss relentlessly.

Replace Man City with Bristol City, and Bristol Rovers with the Scum. Then say that your lean years aren't made that much more cruel.

Anyway, I was walking through Manchester city centre this evening and it was rammed, full of City fans with looks that could generally be described as "over the moon, but not quite believing it". I found myself walking to my car with a big smile on my face, having to stop myself going over to some to congratulate them - not only for winning, but the way they did it, letting the Scum-U fans think their team had nicked it, before nabbing 2 Fergietime goals to slash all over their rivals' heads

Well that's the thing; Bristol Rovers have been below us for virtually the whole of time ever, so does that mean they are deserving of winning the Prem? You could argue Bolton deserve it because it's virtually Manchester. What about Stockport? Surely they are the real deserving winners of the Prem?

Sorry, I thought you were having a pop at them being labelled 'special fans' and for people saying they've been 'through thick and thin'.

Well, of course they deserved to win the Prem. Not because their fans are long-suffering, but because they finished top.

Yes, but at least it's in Manchester and not far from Shiteh's old ground of course.

I see the most horrid little cretin in all football (perhaps the world?) has made another huge error of judgement. I've been defending Joey Barton all day yesterday, I'm not his biggest fan and I don't think he hit Tevez hard enough, but at least he did what I've been dreaming of all year.........god I bet that felt great Joey???!!

I haven't yet recovered from watching Shitteh buy the league - well paid, chaps, well paid... but still I had to post this. WTF are the government doing? It's not their place to get involved in this. And as for Jack Straw - surely this amounts to abuse of his position as MP (as it has done every since he got on the bandwagon):

The fans' group campaigning for the removal of Blackburn manager Steve Kean have been granted meetings with Government and the Premier League to air their concerns.

Blackburn MP and former Home Secretary, Jack Straw, has facilitated a meeting of the fans with sports minister Hugh Robertson next month and the Premier League have agreed in principle to meet them too.

wow  what the f. indeed!

also you seem particularly against man city's title win. who do you support? if your club had done the same thing would you be ecstatic you had won the title despite the money element, or would it not feel as special to you. i'm pleased for man city but my opinion is that the club has lost its identity.

My boyhood hero was Bryan Robson... which should tell you who I support (no, it's not Albion!). There's a difference between spending money earnt through footballing and commercial success (in the case of my team) and spending money from a Sugar Daddy IMO... your last sentence pretty well sums up what happens in the latter case. Can't wait for the Financial Fair Play rules to come in so Shiteh can be consigned to the darkness once again.

Quite ludicrous. As you say, Straw is abusing his position as an MP.

The only saving grace in all of this is that Keane will probably be gone soon anyway because of the Youtube video. That's assuming Venky's have any sense (not guaranteed based on their past performance though).

Rumours abound that King Kenny has abdicated, as he flies out with his No.2 to see the club's Boston-based owners.
LFC are not commenting! Early reports going back a couple of days have installed Martinez as the preferred replacement.

I understand that GN is staying on with Sky as well as his England comitments. Not sure if it'll eventually become 'too much' for him to do both but thats the plan for now.
