I have opened this thread for the 'possible' heatwave this coming weekend
and to Free up the Model Output.

Could get as high as 33C SE England/London...at this stage.

Add me to the list. My idea of a perfect summer's "shorts and t-shirt" day is around 21C with a gentle breeze. Once it gets above the mid 20s, I just find it unpleasant.

add me too! I did mention earlier on in another thread that the BBC weathersite had these temperatures pretty well nailed on for the south east of the country earlier this week for the forthcoming weekend and into next week ....it will be interesting to see how  far north and west this plume of warm air travels

Looks like the plume misses us again only 22c here for Sunday ...35c not a chance imo.

This thread will have gone and jinxed it

Naw... GFS still progs temps of 25 to 30°C in a line from the England/Wales border eastward for Saturday. In fact that's a slight upgrade! Scotland sees high teens to low 20's quite widely.

The plume then makes slightly greater inroads for Sunday with maybe 22°C uppers across the far SE for a time. For the same region of England and Wales as on Saturday GFS progs temps of 25 to 31°C:

http://cdn.nwstatic.co.uk/gfsimages/gfs.20120815/00/111/ukmaxtemp.png

IIRC, GFS showed a top temp of about 28°C on the day that we saw 30.7°C in St. James Park. So a similar margin of error for the 00z would give a highest temperature of 33 to 34°C.

Man up guys - a few days of heat in the SE is liveable I would suggest.   Maxes of 32'C + will only occur if we have good solar input AND we catch the plume properly

Hopefully the same here.. the already stressed and unhappy commuters to London can keep the suffocating heat down there.

posibly 3 days of hot weather for the s.e, but i still think the real high temps will clip the extreme east only.

I hope this thread has jinxed it, can`t stand hot humid weather. I wouldn`t mind a holiday in Iceland, or maybe Greenland.

33-34C is the likely outcome as it shown 33-34 on the other side of the continent nearest to the SE coast which always the outcome for inland temps in the SE.  I might see 34-35C in my garden.

I think we'll get to about 25-26C here, very much doubt it will be higher, looks like the highest temps will be reserved to the further south and east you are.

Have to admit, I wasn't really "feeling" the last three warm spells so far this season, felt like it wasn't really that much to get too excited and indeed it never came to anything too memorable in any case - at least for my neck of the woods due to onshore sea breezes taking the edge away from it all (especialy since the sea surface at the Strait Of Dover seem to be cooler than normal).
However, I do feel that this one has got legs and I reckon by the end of the weekend somewhere in Kent will have touched the 90 F mark (32 C) I'll bet it'll be the form horse that is Gravesend.
As most of you are aware, I'm not really that much of a fan of hot and muggy weather (a throwback from my old greenhouse days) but I can live with this one if it does end on a good and proper explosive note - something that has been seriously lacking around here!

For much of northern England and North Wales, the weekend will likely see plenty of rain - so temperatures will be academic; chances are it'll be another sh**e weekend for these parts
