Just a pity we missed out on trying for a fourth.
For all the naysayers
So in 2008 the medal haul took off in the second week.

If Vicky P needs consoling, I'm free tonight.
Otherwise team sprint awesome, team pursuit -l i expect sub 3 mins 50 tomorrow.
Glad to see we have done well today. Hoy and team excellent .few suprises too.
The back of the queue is that way mate -------------------------------------------------------->
We'll do all right this Olympics - I am not the least bit concerned.
As a nation we'll do OK medal wise and also these Olympics have been well organised as well here and we're doing nicely.
Apparently the GB women's sprint were out by 5 or 6 metres, wasnt that marginal. Pendleton takes responsibility.
Looking on the BBC footage, they say the changeover zone starts at the end of the lap (ie, the finishing/start line); at that point, VP is about half a wheel in front.
Feel gutted for Ms Varnish, as they were pretty much nailed for at least silver - at least VP gets to ride in other events
On a more positive note, fantastic performance by the chaps. Chris Hoy now the most succesful British Olympian ever
I think they meant that she started overtaking 5 or 6 metres before the line rather than her being 5 or 6 metres ahead at that point.
Anyway, at least Pendleton had some speed there. Keirin tomorrow for her -all the rounds are tomorrow. Men's team pursuit final is tomorrow too. GB looked very smooth today achieving their world record.
I need consoling due to cycling disappointment so I should be first in the queue. I went out for a quick spin after all the excitement and failed to beat my 10.8 mile personal best. By about 7 minutes. I'm heart broken.
Some of the womens hockey players are extremely cute. Just been watching the Argentine ladies at the anthem playing. Sweet!
went to the millenium stad last night watched Mexico v Swiss and Team GB v Uraguay good experiience to sit with fans of all nations un segregated great atmosphere, however the millenium stad had only 1 food consesion where the que was at least 45 mins to get some grub there wer 5 beer consesions managed to get mini box of pringles with my beer, this was unacceptably dis organised however this pales into insignigficance when compared with the farcical debical after the match of trying to get on a train which took me over 2 hours 15 mins of queing in the biggest que Ive seen in my 50 odd years (note to self never ever go to cardiff again) there were at least 15000 people behind me in the que as well, cant imagine they all got home, really soured the event for me and made ashamed of our 3rd world country full of useless jobsworths
Great day for team GB today, tomorrow could be even better with Adlington, mens Team Pursuit, Womens keirin (Pendleton) and Womens Double Skulls all chances for golds.
didnt fancy yours tho' matty (her coach)
Murray and Robson through to the quarters of the Mixed doubles could be a medal there.
Sailing looking better after a very good day for the Brits,
Boxing going well only one boxer out so far. Ogogo had a great win today and has given himself a great chance of a medal.
I think we have a boat in every Rowing final so should get a few more medals.
GB Equestrian Dressage team in the lead after day 1.
