I was on holiday in Cromer during the last week of September 1993 - I've never seen so much rain in my life. Day after day the coastal road was flooded but our old Austin Maestro kept going for us.

Quite an impressive sequence of colder than average months between July and November 1993. Wasn't that the coldest such period since the early 1950's?
