Would be fascinating to see how much Chelsea lose on him if he does go. Biggest waste of 50 million you can ever imagine.

Apparently he was devastated to have been dropped in favour of Droga for the CL final. If he genuinely believes he should have been first in line then he really needs to wind his neck in
agree, has to be drogba every time. completely justified too, which makes his outburst look even more ridiculous

Torres might have been wiser to bite his tongue for a while: With Drogba looking like he's going to China, then he would I'm sure been in line to take up that No.1 striker's role. No doubting he's had a dreadful run of form since his move south. His confidence was at rock-bottom, but lately he has begun to show hints of the striker he once was. If he were to remain at Chelsea I think he could be a completely different animal for next season. He's still a youngster, and personally, I think the best is yet to come - and in 2 or 3 years - maybe, just maybe, his £50m fee will (relatively) be viewed as a snip!

I am not sure that Chelseas game suits Torres, he is a much better player when in a team that plays more open football. I would have him at Man U in a second...tho player like Torres is beyond our budget.

Having watched a fair few live games this season I have to jump to the defence of Kalou here, I'm not one of his biggest fans but in the Champions League Kalou has done a fantastic job for us, alot of off the ball running and positioning which many wouldn't of seen on TV.

As for Torres he did get better towards the end of the season BUT why on earth woould you play him ina role where he has to get back and defend. Look at the Barccelona Game just before he scored he was actually back trying to defend and gave the ball away.

Some will say well he shouldn't be played outwide and that is correct but he has started through the middle and often or not he pulls out wide anyway. What the lad needs to do is pipe down abit, get back to form, get some pace back start scoring consistantly when he gets his chance then he may be within his right to come out and complain.

He moaned because he wanted to take a Penalty YET earlier this season he bottled taking one and David Luiz had to step up instead, To sulk and shrug and pull away from the Manager before the shoot-out was a joke, I think Mata went over to ask him if he was alright, then Mata goes up and Misses the first one, was that on his mind? who knows, it doesn't matter now

For a guy that gave an interview so quick after the game he must of done it whilst sitting on the crossbar celebrating

I have been very supportive of Torres and so have many Chelsea Fans, not a well timed comment he made though, He can be the future if he wants it enough. IMO he needs to play the lone role but with 2 behind him Mata and one other thats simular, so instead of a 4-3-3 perhaps a 4-3-2-1...A Christmas Tree

Hearing that Joe Cole looks to be on the way to Spurs, would this mean Modric is deffo off somewhere? Wouldn't be suprised to see United in for Modric aswell as Chelsea.

I disagree - I think he was worth something of that order.  He is a class act - as they say form is temporary but class is permanent.  Even when he was struggling he still put in the effort.

I hope he stays - especially if Drogba leaves.

Agree would like him to stay but if we continue to use the 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 away from home he aint going to be guarenteed the striker role especially if someone like Falcao arrives.

So the fun starts

With Mourinho signing New Real Madrid Contract he is staying put for now. so no move to Chelsea, Spurs or Liverpool...Perhaps United or City within the next couple of Years?

There are doubts over Harry Redknapps future at Spurs and also wether Champions League Winner Manager Robbie Di Matteo will be in charge come the start fo the New Season.

Liverpool and Villa are in need of Managers, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is fav for the Villa Job and AVB () Fav for Liverpool, but with the Harry Rumour circulating, will Harry move North?

Drogba may be off from Chelsea and Torres could be off also will they be replaced by Falcao or Hazard? or will Hazard be in Manchester? With Spurs going into the Europa Cup will they keep both Modric and Bale?

Let's have all your gossip, rumours and facts here

Capello was always a more likely option than 'Arry.

'Arry wasn't big enough for the England job so why would he be big enough for the mighty Liverpool.

I don't think we need a seperate thread for this. As per every other year, please keep it to the relevant league's football threads :)

We don't have a European leagues thread. Do we need one? You can start one if you like.

The relevant CL and Europa League threads will be started as the competitions get back under way next season

If Fernando Torres is really worth £50m, I only wonder how much the likes of Pele, Maradona, Cruyff & Beckenbauer would have been worth at their peak under today's prices!

I would say that as far as current players go, Lionel Messi is worth that amount of money, for sure, but not Torres.

I don't see Bale leaving, as well as Modric. Both players seem to have forgotten the length of contracts they have. Uncle Daniel hasn't.

I can't think of a single team out there prepared to come up with an offer matching Levy's valuation.

The likelihood of Modric leaving has risen even more this afternoon. It's well-known (to Spurs fans at least) that Levy has been in Amsterdam in the last 24 hours attempting to thrash out a deal with Ajax for Vertonghen. Word is, he may be sounding out Ajax about Ericksen too. That really would be ball busting business, though unlikely.
