Absolutely nothing funny regarding our plight whatsoever, just because we are a small town club that punches above it's weight it doesn't mean other fans should take the pizz. If this had happened at any big city club, then the media would have been all over this. Venky's out, as for Kean, the backstabbing, ass licking, imbecile. Well he's earning 1.5 million, for taking the pizz.
Blackburn fans
Good to see some real passion from a fan of a club. I don't know if you go to games or not (half a point off if you don't), but it's what being a supporter of your team means. There's a time and place for clinical analysis (usually from an armchair) but often it's just a gut instinct thing.
Blackburn is in no way a 'big' club, but it tries to compete in an area where there are many clubs, and it's so easy to lose fans to the so called glamour boys at Old Trafford, The Etihad and even Anfield.
If it's any consolation the Championship is more fun...honest
I've no doubt SC is a passionate fan, I'd consider myself one too, and you as well Simon, and well most of us in here are. I was a little disturbed by the level of hate towards Steve Kean. I get that he's unpopular, really really unpopular, but some of the abuse aimed at the man is disgusting.
By the way Solar Cycles that is not directly aimed at your comments, as clearly Kean has suffered worse than that, but it's a fine line!

That, as you may say, is "subjective."It could be said that anyone who subscribes to Sky Sports is a football supporter, for that is what drives English football. You don't have to go through the turnstiles every other week to support a club. There will be today many "armchair fans" of your own club, who were regularly on the terraces long before you filled your first nappy! They will always be supporters. My little grandsons wear their club shirts. They too could may be classed as supporters - and certainly would - had THEY paid for them!! It's all subjective!

There are some on here that have done the hard yards slogging around the country to **** little grounds on wet winters days. Remember a very wet away trip to Oldham Athletic when they still had a grass bank behind the goal for the away fans, or was that Wigan's old place.! I would still go to games if I could, wish I could But hey, lifes not bad
I'm an armchair fan of Liverpool. I don't deny it - nor do I feel any shame in it. Well, not the armchair bit.
Football isn't my first sport, though, and I've done the 'hard yards (as SoT put it) supporting my egg-chasing team, so feel I've more than earned my supporter's stripes, even if they're a slightly different shape. And if anyone wants to compare windswept, crumbling grounds, I'm up for that! I once stood on the terrace at Oldham's (now demolished) Watersheddings in February. Siberian tundra-esque.
Oooh, a wind-swept bank, or freezing tundra wood be t' lookshoory for ooz! W use t'ave t' watch t' Gills on a Fraaaday, night and t' Halifax. We use t'ave handful of hot gravel at half-time, and when we got ome, Mother use t' spank ooz wit bread naaf!
My spectating days began standing on a wooden box at Liverpool's Anfield Road end in the old 2nd. Division. I later graduated to The Kop - when it was a swaying mass of 28,000 bodies. Despite that, you had your own 'spec' on the terraces and would meet the same old faces at every game. Worst recollection - when Liverpool entertained Cologne. It was a sell-out and all the gates were sealed long before the kick-off. The ref called the game off (Snow!!) and it was announced before the gatemen could get back to open the gates, and the crowd started making to the exits down the steeply banked terraces. A few injuries that night - but it could have been much worse. As a lad I lived a couple of miles from their Melwood training ground - met Shanks and virtually all of the great players of the 60's and 70's, and remember getting annoyed when the great Billy Liddle dripped sweat whilst signing, onto my prized autograph book!! Memories of getting my feet wet in The Kop - and all kopites will know what that means. If I lived down south (relatively) I'm sure I'd have a season ticket, but as I'm not, I'm quite content to be viewed as an armchair fan: Done my time, and fortunately Liverpool get plenty of coverage.

I would love to attend Spurs matches these days, but simply can't afford it!

For 3 seasons on the spin me and my 3 pals went to every away game (as well as having a season ticket, but I didn't make all the home games). The deal was, we would all take a turn at driving and the other 3 lads would share a slab of lager, some great days out at Wolves, Fulham and Derby in particular. I put some miles on that little Fiesta and there are some great stories I can tell you....Mackams on Tour...FTM
The reason I don't go as often is simply money, nothing else at all, just money. Could I really turn round to the kids and say "no holiday this year guys, no beach, no summer sun, daddy spent the money on the footy". I still have my season ticket and I still get up there as often as I can, but I seem to find so many other things to do with my weekend now that I never used to.
