Yup, SW and EA in the firing like by the looks of it, especially Cornwall.  Will be interesting to see this unfold.

IMBY its looking a bit undramatic, but these things can change.

With model watching its sometimes as much about forgetting to remember as it is remembering to forget things

Just going to be a 'normal' wet day here - and the river is nowhere near flooding (already dropping after Friday).

Andy - according to the BBC the amber warning for Worcestershire is legit

Quote:
AMBER WARNING for RAIN in Worcestershire on Sunday

Because of the recent wet conditions and a sensistive catchment area it is likely that there wiil be significant impacts in Worcestershire from heavy rain and strong winds on Sunday.

Seems a bit odd to me though.

Have not seen the latest BBC forecast, but meto radar shows the rain cranking up again down here, with heavier echoes over the near continent, hopefully looking to move this way! This seems to be not too far from what was forecast last night, but I guess only seeing how much falls from the sky will tell us how significant a rainfall event this is......;-)

The last time 30mm+ fell in a single day here was way back on December 13th 2008 when 30.2mm fell. I'm not sure if we will get that much tomorrow here though.

11.3 mm since 12 am midnight over here. And still raining, of course.

There's a mass of hot air over the continent. That'll give the low some grunt. Hence the heavier rain.

The last time here was this Thursday gone but I'm not sure we will achieve 30mm+ from this event. I think its the longevity of the event that will tot the totals up rather than the heaviness of the rain but we'll all know by this time tomorrow night.

I bet William and Kate are glad they got married on April 29th 2011 and not April 29th 2012.

Look at the upper air temperature gradient over such a short distance - -6 C to 17 C at 850 hPa across something like 300 miles.

Oh, and my rain gauge now reads 13.4 mm.

I still don't get it - river levels are not especially high and rainfall is expected to be no more than on Friday.   Wierd.

The actual drawn area includes Pershore but not Evesham; the county includes Evesham but not Bidford or Stratford.   Yet all these  towns are on the same river, but nowhere near the Severn which if it affects Worcester will likewise affect Twekesbury in Gloucestershire.

It simply does not make any possible sense at all.

Wierd.

Yes believe it or not it's horrendous down here. Since about 9pm it has cranked up so much. I haven't experienced a system in this area like this in absolute years. I was driving up the A10 and there were branches across the road, very dangerous. Some roads are not passable now. My local river is actually starting to burst its banks already, there's a beautiful grade 2 listed farmhouse nearby so it would be very unfortunate for that to be flooded.

Wind has really picked up here in last 3 hours and rain has become heavier. Very similar to Dee Dee outside here, definitely like a winter storm!
