Well I was spot on with my latest estimate as 8.27C is indeed the final figure (a downward adjustment of 0.32C from the provisional figure of 8.59C)

Nobody went for 8.3C but congratulations to Trickster who was the closest with 8.2C

Here are the charts for March
As expected the maximum temperatures were way above normal whereas minimums were less high although still above average.
The maximum CET figure was 12.84C which is 3.21C above normal and the highest figure since 1948. It is also the 3rd highest on record. 1938 was incredibly warm at 13.8C so a full 1C warmer than this year.
Well done to the winners.
Thanks GW for running with this.
We have 66 members remaining in the competition after three months of the year. Some fairly large errors again in the competition this month which is not surprising given how far above average the temperature was. The mean error this month across all participants was 1.33C which exceeded the 1.25C in February.
We have a new leader in the competition this month as redmoons moves up three places to the top of the table despite an error of nearly 1C.
A familiar face near the top of the table from last year, Darren S, is up to second just 0.05C behind.
Last month’s leader speckledjim drops two places to third while last year’s winner Martyn is up another place to fourth.
domma climbs another two places to fifth and Dougie, another regular in the top 10 from earlier years, is up six places to sixth.
marting falls five places this month to seventh while Devonian continues his steady start to the year up one to eighth.
GezM moves up four to ninth and Trickster moves into the top 10 rising a huge 29 places this month.
There are four people battling out at the bottom of the table who are well adrift of the rest. Chris brings up the rear this month.
Big movers elsewhere in the table are summarised below.
Big climbers this month
10 Trickster (↑29)34 nouska (↑22) 40 Gavin D (↑21) 26 Alvin Meister (↑19) 21 Global Warming (↑16)38 dingle rob (↑15) 39 Caz (↑15) 45 warrenb (↑14)

Thanks for all the facts and figures GW
At least I'm moving the right way at last.
I went for 7C - way out. It was 8.3C I believe the final total was.
I like to be within 1C or less.

Cheers GW, I had hoped to do better this year
I've kept my 60th place - but only because so many dropped out this month
GW, many thanks for all the facts and figures and for a great competition as always!
Yipee! Even with a guess of 7c, I managed to climb a fair bit!
Well done to the climbers and congrats to everyone who took part, wherever you are in the table, but especially those holding us up at the bottom for sticking with us!
I've gone for a low figure for April - In some respects thats one I would like to be wrong on.
I have made some further changes to the tables above having had another look at them as some of the manually entered prediction error figures that accompany the charts were complete nonsense. It makes no difference to the positions and the bars on the chart were all correct but I had messed up entering some of the figures.
Hopefully everything is now in order. When I get some time after Easter I will go through all the data for the year again and just check no other gremlins have crept into the figures.
Well done to Redmoons, and thanks to GW for all the figures.
Well done guys and thanks to GW
Great work as ever GW, not a bad lucky guess from me either.
Thanks :D never been this high might get a nose bleed!! Great work GW
Thanks GW ....... great stuff
