The Grand National 2022 Festival at Aintree begins on Thursday 7th April and the big race itself is run at 17:15 on Saturday 9th April. The weather can be a very important factor and in particular it largely determines what the going will be like.

This year for the first time we've added super high resolution forecast charts for the Aintree Racecourse area. They are generated using raw data from the UK Met Office UKV, which is one of the most highly regarded computer models currently available.
The charts on our website are updating twice each day, using data initialised at 03:00 GMT and 15:00 GMT. However, remember that the charts appear a few hours later.
The localised charts can be freely viewed from the link below:
https://www.theweatheroutlook.com/twodata/ukv_special.aspx
If you would like to view the bigger picture across the UK then use the following link:

The charts are stepped at 1 hour intervals from 0 to 54 hours and 3 hour intervals from 57 to 120 hours. Temperatures, rain rates and wind speeds are available among others.
Those of you who are comfortable looking at charts and data will find a huge number of resources to help your analysis of the Grand National weather prospects from the page linked below.

Please remember that even the best computer models can be wrong at relatively short ranges. Weather forecasting is perhaps a little bit like horse racing in that it is about the most likely winner, but outliers do sometimes come to the front.
