There will be a changeable weather theme in the coming days, with all regions likely to experience showers or longer spells of rain at times. It's shaping up to be a very mixed Bank Holiday weekend! In the longer term, there continue to be signs of very warm spells, although it's still too soon to be certain.

Tonight: Showery spells of rain clear eastwards across much of the UK, although they are likely to linger in northern and eastern Scotland. The rain will be heavy at times, particularly in central and northern areas.

Tomorrow: The remnants of the rain will clear from Scotland leaving bright intervals across all areas. However, showers are expected, especially in northern and western regions. Temperatures generally slightly lower than today’s. Strong winds will also be a notable feature of the weather.

Changeable outlook

Changeable weather is expected to continue over the coming days. Bank Holiday Monday is likely to begin with sunny spells and showers, but there is a risk of more persistent and heavy outbreaks of rain spreading into much of the north and west of the UK. It could also become very windy in western areas.

The unsettled pattern is forecast to persist through the following days, with all regions at risk of showers or longer spells of rain. There is a potential for strong winds.
