Much of the UK will experience fine weather today and tomorrow. However, conditions are expected to become more unsettled over the Bank Holiday period, with showers or longer spells of rain likely across all areas. Strong winds are also possible, particularly in the north.

Dry in most of the UK

A few showers move southwards across England today. They will generally be light, and most of the UK will remain dry with sunny spells.

Tonight: Dry conditions across the UK with clear spells. It will be rather chilly, especially in northern Britain where a ground frost is possible.

Tomorrow: Most areas remain fine with spells of warm sunshine. However, outbreaks of rain will move across Northern Ireland and are expected to reach northwestern Britain by the evening.

Mixed Bank Holiday period

The weather during the Bank Holiday period will be a lot more mixed than recently. On Saturday a band of rain clears eastwards and showery conditions follow. Showers or longer spells of rain are possible in all areas on Sunday and Monday, but the wettest conditions are likely to be in the north and west. There is also a risk of strong winds..
