Easter Sunday was fine in much of the UK, but more places will see rain today. In some areas it is likely to be heavy, and there is even a possibility of thundery downpours in the south. Despite that, there will be dry and bright periods too.
Issued 15th April 2025
Outbreaks of rain push eastwards today, with some of them heavy and persistent in central and northern areas. Brighter conditions follow from the west, although further showers are possible. In the south the rain will be more showery, but in the afternoon there could be some thundery downpours.
Temperatures range from 10°C in the north west to 18°C in the south east. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

During Wednesday outbreaks of rain associated with a small area of low pressure steadily clear southeastwards, though some heavy bursts are possible for a time. The north should be mostly dry and bright.
In the following days high pressure builds across the UK. It is expected to lead to settled conditions returning. Temperatures will be close to or slightly above the average, but at this time of the year it will be warm in the sun.
