Tonight it remains dry across much of northern and eastern Britain. Elsewhere, there will be further spells of rain, with some heavy bursts in southwestern Britain and Northern Ireland.

Tomorrow the rain will steadily fade away, although it could persist in Northern Ireland well into the afternoon. It will be rather cool in the north, but temperatures should be close to the seasonal norm in southern and central counties.

Rain risk mostly in the south

Easter Sunday is looking mainly dry, although there could be some patchy rain in the northwest. Cloud amounts vary, but there should be a reasonable amount of sunshine. Temperatures remain close to the seasonal norm so in sunny spells it should feel quite warm.

Showery rain probably becomes more widespread on Bank Holiday Monday, with more persistent outbreaks possible in the northwest. However, there should also be periods of warm sunshine, particularly in central and eastern counties.

In the following few days there is a risk of showers or even longer spells of rain in southern and central areas. Further north it is expected to remain mostly fine.
