The Easter weather prospects continue to look mixed, with areas of low pressure likely to be close to the UK. Although a complete washout isn't expected, all areas could see showers or longer spells of rain. Therefore, if you are planning outdoor activities keep up to date with the short range forecasts.

Showery rain in eastern England should clear this morning, leaving dry periods in much of the UK. However, there will still be scattered showers, and in the southwest of Britain heavy outbreaks of rain are expected to develop and continue for much of the day. This afternoon the wet conditions could spread across more of the south.
Temperatures range from 8°C in the north and west to 18°C in the south east. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Meteo France Arpege, Tuesday 15th April [Tap animation to toggle cities]
Tonight outbreaks of rain spread northwards, with the heaviest in the west. Over the Welsh mountains and high ground in Scotland some could fall as snow. Drier conditions return to southern Britain by the morning.
Tomorrow the rain in the northern half of the UK will become focused on Scotland, where further snow is possible over the mountains. Other areas should be mostly dry, but in the afternoon another area of rain pushes into the southwest. It will be windy in northern England.
Meteo France Arpege, Wednesday 16th April [Tap animation to toggle cities]
Thursday is expected to bring more in the way of dry weather, though showers are still possible in places. It will feel warmer in sunny spells.
The Easter period is looking very mixed. On Good Friday showers or longer spells of rain are possible in much of the UK. The wettest conditions on Saturday are likely to be in the north and west, but strong winds are possible in southern counties. Easter Sunday could bring showery rain again, but a reasonable amount of dry weather is also possible.
