Most of the UK has a dry day with spells of warm sunshine. However, changes will be taking place in the coming days. During Thursday and Friday a weather front pushes southwards, with cooler and showery conditions following it

The day starts dry across the UK. In most areas that’s how it will remain, and there should be plenty of sunshine. However, in the northwest cloud builds and by the evening outbreaks of rain push into northern and western Scotland.

Tonight, a band of rain weakens as it pushes southward across the north of the UK, with the heaviest rain in western Scotland. In England and Wales it remains dry.
Tomorrow, wet conditions gradually extend across northern and western areas. In northwestern Britain the rain turns heavy at times. Areas to the south and east have another dry and quite warm day.

On Friday morning a band of rain clears southeastward, leaving cooler and showery conditions. Most of the showers will be in the north and west, with sleet and snow falling over high ground in Scotland. The weekend is expected to be largely dry in southern, central and eastern areas. In the north and west there is a greater risk of showers or longer spells of rain. It will be windy at times, especially in the north.
