Yesterday was the first day of the astronomical spring and also the warmest of the year so far. The temperature reached 21.3°C at Northolt in London and Chertsey in Surrey. Things will start changing today as low pressure moves up from the southwest. Southwestern England, Wales and Northern Ireland will have showery spells of rain, and tomorrow the wet conditions spread across much of the UK. (If you would like to browse the website without adverts and access premium features, see below)

Drier weather returning

Sunday will be quite mixed with showery spells of rain in places, but it should be starting to turn drier. Monday and Tuesday are looking mostly dry and bright. Temperatures won't be as high as recently, but in sunny spells it is likely to feel quite pleasant. Chilly nights lead to a risk of patchy frost.
