The cold spell of weather continues today and there will be showers in places. A more organized band of rain, sleet, and snow showers is likely to push down across the northern half of the UK tonight. Tomorrow brings a similar picture, but by the weekend the showers fade away as high pressure builds across the UK. Most places have a dry start to the day, but scattered showers affect the north and east. Through the day they become more widespread, and some will be wintry. The brightest conditions are likely in western Britain and Northern Ireland.

Tonight, a more organized band of rain, sleet and snow showers pushes down across the northern half of the UK. Over high ground accumulations of snow are possible. Clear periods to its north and south allow frost to form.
Tomorrow, the band of showers clears southwards, and many places have sunny spells. However, further showers develop and one or two of them could be heavy. It remains cold.

During the weekend showers become more scattered, and many places remain dry. Daytime temperatures edge upwards, but they remain on the low side and nighttime frosts continue to be a risk. Early next week not much changes.
