Tonight, clear periods allow temperatures to drop sharply. Frost will develop widely, although cloudier skies in the far northwest will keep it less cold.

Tomorrow it remains dry across the UK. Sunny spells develop, and after a cold start afternoon temperatures should be close to the February norm.

Cold with a risk of rain, sleet and snow

The next few days will be cold as an easterly flow becomes established. There will be plenty of dry and frosty weather, but on Friday and Saturday, showery outbreaks of rain, sleet, and snow are expected to push eastward across England and Wales. Snowfall amounts are likely to be small, although a covering is possible in some places, particularly over high ground.
