High pressure continues to bring a good deal of dry weather today and tomorrow. However, through the following days a change takes place. A band of rain pushes southeastwards across the UK and cold Arctic air follows it. The risk of snow is expected to increase in the north. Issued 12th November 2024
Most of the UK remains dry today. The exceptions are northern and western Scotland where there will be light outbreaks of rain. Cloudier conditions in the north steadily push southwards through the day, but there should be sunny spells for much of the day in southern counties.
After a chilly start with patchy fog and frost afternoon temperatures will be close to the norm. Temperatures range from 8°C to 12°C. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight patchy rain continues to be a risk in the north west. There could also be some showery rain in East Anglia and the south east. Extensive cloud cover means it will be quite mild.
Tomorrow it's expected to be dry in most areas again, although in coastal counties there could be a few showers. Temperatures similar to today's.

During the next few days a big change takes places. A band of rain slowly pushes southeastwards and colder Arctic air follows it. By Sunday more persistent outbreaks of rain are possible in the south as an area of low pressure develops. The north is likely to be brighter, but showers increasingly fall as sleet or snow, especially over high ground where significant accumulations are possible.
Early next week the wintry theme continues. Snow is most likley in the north, but it's not out of the question that parts of the south could see some.
