Tonight outbreaks of rain continue pushing northeastwards clearing all areas apart from northern Scotland by the morning. Mixed conditions follow with showery rain in places, possibly heavy in the west

The next few days bring mixed weather. Showers or longer spells of rain are possible in all regions, but there should be dry and bright periods too. A southwesterly flow means temperatures will be higher than recently. Forecast details through this period are uncertain and there is still a possibility of it turning very wet and windy in the south, but that is currently looking less likely.
Through the second half of the week cold Arctic air is expected to plunge southwards. Over high ground in the north the risk of sleet and snow increases.
