Yesterday brought another big rain event to parts of central and eastern England, but things are now changing. While showers remain a possibility in the southeast and East Anglia today, much of the UK will remain dry. That continues to be the case tomorrow, but through Friday and the weekend unsettled conditions return from the west. Tonight a few showers continue in the south east and East Anglia, but in most of the country it will be dry. Clear periods allow temperatures to drop quite sharply, with a touch of frost possible in the Welsh valleys and Scotland.
Tomorrow it's a similar picture. Isolated showers are still possible in the south east, but for most of the UK it will be dry and bright. Temperatures remain close to the early October norm.

The next few days see a change in the weather beginning to take place as disturbances push in from the Atlantic. They initially bring a risk of rain to the north west of the UK, but through the weekend they push farther southwards and eastwards. There is uncertainty about how quickly unsettled weather will return to central and eastern Britain.
