Low pressure centred close to East Anglia will bring outbreaks of rain to central and eastern counties today. UK weather discussion

Outbreaks of rain in central Britain slowly push southeastwards through the day. Heavy rain is likely at times, particularly in central and eastern counties. Scotland and Northern Ireland have scattered showers and sunny spells. The drier and brighter conditions extend into Wales and south western England this afternoon. 

Windy and rather chilly. Temperatures range from 9°C in the far north to 15°C in the south west. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight the rain in central and eastern counties becomes showery and gradually moves away southeastwards. Elsewhere it will be dry and clear periods in Scotland lead to a patchy ground frost.

Tomorrow, showers are possible in the south eastern corner and East Anglia. In the rest of the UK it will be dry, with the brightest conditions in the north and west.

High pressure holding on?

High pressure brings dry conditions on Thursday. In the following days disturbances begin to push in from the Atlantic. They bring an increasing risk of rain to the north and west, but the south and east may stay mostly dry into the weekend.
