The fine weather continues today and temperatures could reach their peak this week. Tomorrow the risk of heavy showers increases in the south. Through the weekend thundery downpours or longer spells of rain become more widespread in southern and central regions. More of the same today, as the settled period of weather continues today. Low cloud and fog lifts this morning to leave sunny periods across the UK. It will feel warm or very warm this afternoon.

Tonight it remains dry across the UK. Mist and fog could form in central and northern areas by the morning. In the south it will be quite warm and muggy.
Tomorrow it remains fine in central and northern areas, although winds coming off the North Sea are likely to peg back temperatures in the east. In southern Britain many places stay dry, but there will be thundery showers too, with the greatest risk of catching one probably in the south west.

During the weekend heavy showers and thunderstorms continue to be a risk in southern Britain and on Sunday they may become more widespread and push into central areas. In the north it should remain dry and warm. The early part of next week is looking mixed, with wet and windy weather becoming more likely.
