Issued 5th September 2024
An area of low pressure remains centred to the south of the UK, so the weather will be similar to recent days. England and Wales have variable amounts of cloud, and this afternoon heavy bursts of rain develop in parts of the south. There could be a few showers in others areas too, but many places remain dry and in sunny spells it will be warm and humid. Scotland and Northern Ireland have a dry, bright and warm day.
Temperatures range from 16°C to the mid 20Cs depending on cloud and sunshine amounts. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight, outbreaks of rain push northwards across England and Wales. Rain amounts will vary, but in places some large totals are likely. Scotland and Northern Ireland stay mostly dry.
Tomorrow showery rain is likely in much of the UK, although Northern Ireland could hold on to dry conditions. The rain will be heavy in places, but as in recent days, amounts are expected to vary a lot over relatively short distances.

Things remain mixed through the next few days. A weak ridge of high pressure pushing in from the west on Monday means showers are likely to become more scattered, with many places staying dry. During Tuesday a band of rain pushes southeastwards. It is followed by cool and showery conditions. Some rather cold nights are possible for the time of the year, especially in the north.
