Wet weather in the north slowly moves southwards through the day. In southern and central regions it remains dry and quite warm. UK weather discussion

Heavy outbreaks of rain in the north edge southwards through the day. By the middle of the afternoon they will be affecting Wales, along with central and northern areas of England. Brighter conditions will be returning to Northern Ireland and Scotland. Windy in the wet areas and the south.

Ahead of the rain it will feel quite warm in any sunny spells that develop. Temperatures range from 14°C in the far north west to 25°C in East Anglia and the south east. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight, the outbreaks of rain steadily clear southeastwards. Clear periods in the north and west allow temperatures to drop into single figures by the morning. 

Tomorrow, showers push into Northern Ireland and the western half of Scotland. In the rest of the UK it is expected to be fine, with the highest temperatures in the south east and East Anglia where 25°C may be reached.

Fine weekend in much of the UK

The weekend should bring a lot of dry, bright and quite warm weather. However, it turns more unsettled again early next week and there is the potential for significant amounts of rain in the south.
