Tonight, any remaining rain in the south fades away, as do showers in the north. There will be a big temperature contrast, with very muggy conditions in the south but cooler and fresher ones in the north.
Tomorrow, cloud in southern Britain increasingly breaks, allowing warm spells of sunshine to develop. Cloud amounts also vary in the north, and the brightest conditions may be in the morning. Very warm in southern and central regions.
UK Met UKV, Sunday 11th August [Tap animation to toggle cities]
Monday may turn out to be the hottest day of the year. Computer models are suggesting 33°C is possible in central and eastern England, which would make it the hottest day of the year. However, areas of low pressure will be returning, leading to a risk of thundery spells of rain pushing into northern and western areas in the evening and overnight. In the following days cooler and more unsettled weather pushes southeastwards, although it may be mostly warm and dry in the south until Thursday or Friday.
