Outbreaks of rain affect the north west today and there will be a few showers in the east this morning. In central and eastern counties it remains very warm. The weekend is looking mixed, with fresher conditions pushing southeastwards on Saturday. Showers in the east move away by the early afternoon to leave bright conditions across much of Britain. It will be very warm in central and eastern counties. However, in the north west there will be patchy outbreaks of rain and this afternoon they turn heavier. Winds strengthen in the wet areas.

Tonight the band of rain pushes eastwards across Britain and clears by the morning. Some heavy bursts are expected in the north, but in the south amounts of rain will be small.
Tomorrow, showery rain pushes eastwards across southern Britain. The rain will generally be light, although it could perk up as it moves into the south east during the afternoon. Showery rain also affects north western parts of the UK, but in other areas it remains dry. Temperatures in most of the UK will be close to the norm, although in the south it remains quite warm.

Early next week it could briefly become very warm again in central and eastern counties. Some computer models are forecasting temperatures in the upper 20Cs by Monday. However, in northern and western areas it's a more unsettled picture with an ongoing risk of heavy rain. Some rain is likely to reach southern counties during Tuesday or Wednesday, but amounts will probably be small.
