Thundery downpours in England and Wales today bring a risk of flash flooding, but they will be hit and miss with some places staying dry. In areas where sunny spells develop it will be warm, and locally in the south, temperatures could reach 30°C. Thundery downpours in central and northern England clear eastwards this morning, leaving sunny spells in all areas. However, further thunderstorms develop this afternoon in southern and central regions. They will be hit and miss, but there is the potential for localised flash flooding.
Temperatures range from 17°C in the far north west to 30°C in the south. Check the weather radar for the most up to date view.

Tonight thundery showers continue to be a risk in central and eastern counties of England. There could also be patchy outbreaks of rain in the north west of the UK, but other areas will be dry.
Tomorrow, outbreaks of rain push into the north west and winds strengthen. In other areas there will be scattered showers and sunny spells. Central and eastern areas remain very warm, with temperatures locally reaching 30°C in the south.

The changeable weather continues during the next few days. The weekend starts with outbreaks of rain clearing southeastwards and fresher conditions following. Heavy rain is likely in much of the north on Sunday, but in the south it should be dry and bright. Wet periods are possible in all areas early next week.
