Much of the country remains dry today but temperatures will still be below the mid June average. However, a change is on the way from tomorrow as an area of low pressure pushes in from the Atlantic. Initially, weather fronts associated with it push eastwards and bring outbreaks of rain. They will be followed by showery conditions, but when the sun shines it will be a little warmer than recently. Tonight the remaining showers fade away and clear periods develop widely. It will be unusually cold for the time of the year, with a ground frost possible even in a few southern locations.
Tomorrow a major change begins to take place. Outbreaks of rain push eastwards across most of the UK and they are likely to turn heavy at times, particularly in the west. East Anglia and the south eastern corner should remain dry until late in the day. Temperatures remain below the seasonal norm.

However, an area of low pressure will remain close to the UK, and it leads to an ongoing risk of heavy showers or longer spells of rain.
