Northern and western areas have showers today, but there will be sunny spells too. The changeable weather is set to continue through the coming days. Tomorrow a band of rain sinks southwards, but Saturday should be dry again in much of the UK. Temperatures fluctuate with the highest values in the south.

Thursday starts with showers in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Across England and Wales it is mostly dry.
Through the day showers continue in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Some also push eastwards across Wales and into northern England. There will be sunny spells too, and in southern and central counties it probably remains dry. Windy, especially in the north.
Temperatures range from 10C (50F) in the north to 19C (66F) in the south east. See the rain radar for the latest view.
Tonight a band of wet and windy weather pushes southeastwards across the north. There could be some heavy bursts of rain mixed in. A few showers are also possible in Wales and the south west, but elsewhere it stays dry.
Tomorrow outbreaks of rain steadily moves southwards. They reach the London area by the late afternoon or early evening. A mix of sunny spells and showers follows into northern and central areas.
Saturday is expected to be dry with sunny spells in southern and central areas. In the north scattered showers are likely. Temperatures generally close to the seasonal norm.
Through Sunday wet and windy conditions push down from the northwest. There is uncertainty about their rate of progress, but through the afternoon they probably affect Wales and much of northern England. The brightest conditions will be in south eastern counties.
An area of high pressure possibly brings drier conditions for a time early next week. However, the general theme is for it to be changeable. Therefore, all areas could have wet and windy spells, but the biggest rain totals are forecast to be in the north west.
