Wednesday starts with showery bursts of rain in central Britain. Areas to the north and south are mostly dry.
Through the day thunderstorms and downpours develop in southern England and East Anglia. In places there could be torrential downpours and they lead to the possibility of flash flooding. In central areas the rain steadily eases and in the afternoon it should be mostly dry. The north has a mostly dry day with variable amounts of cloud, although later on patchy spells of rain may reach the far north west.
Temperatures range from 14C (57F) in the far north to 25C (77F) in southern coastal counties. See the rain radar for the latest view.
Tonight downpours in the south steadily fade away. All areas then become dry, but later on patchy outbreaks of rain spread across Northern Ireland, Scotland and possibly western Wales.
