No sign of rain in the south

The south has another dry day and at the moment there is no real sign of rain in the short to medium term. In the north there will be scattered showers, but many places miss them. This weekend temperatures begin to climb and computer models are suggesting it will turn very warm or hot next week.

Friday starts with showers in the northern half of the UK. Elsewhere it is dry.

Through the day showers continue in central and northern areas. However, many places miss them and remain bright. The south stays dry and in sunny periods it feels warm.

Temperatures range from 14C (57F) in the north west to 25C (77F) in the south east. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight showers fade away and it becomes dry in all regions for a time. However, later in the night outbreaks of rain push eastwards across Scotland.

Tomorrow outbreaks of rain steadily fade away in much of Scotland, although in the far north they could continue to be heavy. Other parts of the north have a lot of cloud and a few showers. Dry, bright and rather warm in southern and central regions.

Dry in the south

Fine weather continues in most of the UK on Sunday; however, there could be rain at times in northern and western Scotland. Warm in the south.

Monday is expected to be a dry and sunny day. Generally warm and possibly very warm in the south where temperatures could reach 28C (82F).

Tuesday could see wet conditions flirting with the far north west. The rest of the UK remains fine day and it will be very warm or hot in England and Wales.
