Showery weather continues

The rather cool and showery period of weather continues today. However, through the coming week it is expected to turn drier and warmer as high pressure begins to build from the southwest.

Sunday starts with showery rain in parts of the north west. Elsewhere it is mainly dry. 

Through the day there will be sunny spells, but showers develop and in the east some of them could be heavy. However, many places miss them and remain dry. In northern and western Scotland more persistent outbreaks of rain develop. Quite windy in the north.

Temperatures range from 13C (55F) in the north west to 22C (72F) in East Anglia and the south east. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tonight showers in southern and central areas fade away. In the north there will be patchy spells of rain and in the west they continue to be heavy in places.

Tomorrow should be dry in most of England, Wales and Northern Ireland, although scattered showers are possible in the north. Much of Scotland sees outbreaks of rain and in the west they could be heavy. Quite warm in central and south eastern counties, but cool in the north.

More settled outlook

During the second half of Tuesday wet weather pushes into the north west. Other parts of the UK will be dry and bright, although there could be a few showers in the north. Rather warm in central and eastern England.

Through Wednesday showery outbreaks in central and northern regions steadily clear away, although it could remain wet in the north west. The south probably stays dry and bright.

Thursday is looking dry and bright in most of the UK. It should also be quite warm.
