The weather continues in the same vein today. The north west has damp conditions, elsewhere it stays mostly dry but cloudy. Through the coming days things don't really change a great deal, but there are signs of a more active weather front pushing southeastwards through the middle of the coming week.

Sunday starts dry in much of the UK, but there are outbreaks of rain in northern and western Scotland. In southern and central Britain there has been a frost in places.
Through the day it will often be damp in the north west and there could be a few heavier bursts of rain in northern Scotland later. Elsewhere it remains dry and although a good deal of cloud remains a few bright spells develop. Windy in the north west.
Temperatures range from 6C (42F) to 9C (48F). See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.
Tonight a band of more persistent rain pushes into the northern half of Scotland and in other parts of the north west it remains damp. The rest of the UK has a dry night and locally there could be a touch of frost.

Tomorrow outbreaks of rain become lighter and patchier as they push southeastwards across the northern half of the UK. Over high ground in Scotland sleet or snow is likely. Southern and central regions have a dry and chilly day.
Tuesday brings the possibility of patchy spells of rain to the northern half of the UK. Southern and central regions should be mostly dry. Temperatures generally close to or a little below the norm.
During Wednesday a more active Atlantic disturbance is expected to bring wet and windy conditions to the north. Southern and central regions should stay mostly dry.
Through Thursday a patchy band of rain clears southeastwards. Brighter skies follow and temperatures will be close to the late January average.
Friday and the weekend should be mainly dry in much of the UK, although in Scotland there is a greater risk of rain. More windy than recently, particularly in the north.
