The mixed weather continues today. Heavy outbreaks of rain affect parts of the north and west leading to the possibility of flooding in places. Other areas remain mostly dry and very mild. Through the next few days unsettled conditions develop in all regions and it turns cooler.

Thursday starts wet in much of northern England and western Wales. Elsewhere it is mainly dry.
Through the day the main area of rain moves across northern Britain. Further spells of heavy rain affect Wales and the south west. In other areas it should be mostly dry with the brightest skies in the south east and the north west. Windy in England and Wales.
Very mild. Temperatures range from 10C (50F) in Scotland to 17C (63F) in England. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.
Tonight outbreaks of heavy rain continue in the west and they steadily spread eastwards into central Britain. Eastern counties should be mostly dry. Windy and mild.

Tomorrow outbreaks of rain steadily clear northeastwards, although they may continue in parts of eastern England until the early evening. In the west it turns brighter. Cooler than recently with temperatures generally close to the seasonal average.
During Saturday wet weather steadily clears eastwards, but rain could continue in East Anglia and northern Scotland until the middle of the afternoon. Temperatures continue to dip and it will feel noticeably cooler.
Through Sunday another batch of wet and windy weather moves across much of the UK, but the northern half of Scotland may stay dry. Quite chilly, especially in the north.
The first half of next week is looking changeable. All regions can expect showers or longer spells of rain. Over high ground in the north there is an increasing risk of sleet or snow. Rather cold.
