Unsettled week on the way

Wet weather in the east clears this morning to leave brighter conditions in all regions, but there will be showers in the west. The rest of the week is looking unsettled and there is the potential for it to turn very wet and windy at times.

Monday starts wet and windy in central and eastern counties. By the early afternoon the rain clears eastwards to leave brighter skies in all of the UK. Showers develop in the west and some could turn heavy. Strong winds in the east gradually ease, but it stays blustery in all regions.

Much cooler than recently. Temperatures range from 12C (54F) in the north west to 17C (63F) in the south east. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.

Tonight showers continue in the west. Later on a more persistent area of rani moves into Wales and the south west. Central and eastern counties remain mostly dry.

Tomorrow heavy and persistent outbreaks of rain steadily push eastwards across England and Wales. In East Anglia and the south east it could stay dry until the late afternoon. Scotland and Northern Ireland have showery conditions. Quite windy and generally rather cool.

Unsettled outlook

Wednesday may begin with rain in the east, but that should quickly clear to leave mostly dry conditions in all regions. Through the second half of the day outbreaks of rain may push into Northern Ireland. Temperatures close to the seasonal average.

During Thursday a band of rain and strong winds pushes eastwards across all regions. Brighter and showery conditions follow from the west. 

Through the rest of the week all regions can expect rather unsettled weather with showers or longer spells of rain. It could also be windy at times. Southern and south eastern England have the best of the drier periods. Temperatures close to the seasonal average.
