Wednesday starts wet in parts of the east and the northwest. Elsewhere it is mainly dry. Through the day there will be an ongoing risk of showers in Scotland and Northern Ireland. England and Wales should be dry and bright after the remnants of the rain in eastern counties clears this morning.
Temperatures range from 14C (57F) in the north to 21C (70F) in the south west. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.
Tonight showery outbreaks of rain push eastwards across the northern half of the UK but they increasingly fade away. Southern and central regions have a dry night with clear periods, but fog could form in places.

Tomorrow will be dry and bright in central and eastern counties. In the west cloud builds and later in the afternoon patchy spells of rain could push into the north west. Feeling quite warm in sunny parts of southern and central England.
During Friday a band of wet weather pushes steadily eastwards and it becomes quite windy in the north. Heavy outbreaks of rain are likely in the west, but they become increasingly light and fragmented through the course of the day. Eastern counties possibly remain dry and quite warm.
Forecast confidence for the weekend is low. At this stage it looks as though Saturday could bring a few showers, but it should be mostly dry and bright.
Through Sunday a band of rain probably pushes across western and central areas. In the east it could stay dry and quite warm, although cloud amounts are likely to increase after a bright start.
Next week begins quite mixed with a risk of wet and windy conditions for a time. However, it probably turns more settled by Wednesday as high pressure builds.
