High pressure building northeastwards from the Azores will bring a lot of fine weather to most of the UK through the rest of the week. Temperatures rise and locally it could become hot by Sunday.

Wednesday starts dry. Through the day an odd shower may bubble up, but the vast majority of the UK remains dry. Sunny periods develop widely and it will be warmer than it has been recently.
Temperatures range from 18C (64F) in the far north west to 26C (78F) in the south. See the rain and lightning radar for the latest view.
Tonight patchy outbreaks of rain affect northern and western Scotland for a time. Elsewhere it remains dry and quite warm.

Tomorrow brings sunny periods to the north. Southern and central regions may be cloudier in the morning but they should have brighter conditions in the afternoon. Warm in the sun.
Friday will be a dry and sunny day across most of the UK. In the far north west it could be cloudier. Warm or very warm, with temperatures locally reaching 27C (81F) in England.
The summery period continues on Saturday as high pressure becomes increasingly dominant. Temperatures widely reach the mid 20Cs.
Sunday will be another sunny day for most of the UK. The exception will probably be northern Scotland where there could be patchy outbreaks of rain. Very warm or even hot, with the possibility of 30C (86F) being reached in England.
The start of next week brings more very warm, dry and sunny weather. However, there are indications of it turning more changeable later on.
