The weekend brings mixed weather and there is the likelihood of heavy rain in places. Early next week showery conditions continue, but in the longer term there are signs of it turning more settled for a while as high pressure builds in from the west.

Drier next week?

Monday brings sunny spells. There will be showers which could be heavy and thundery in places, particularly in the south. It remains cool for June.

During Tuesday showers become focused on central and eastern England. Other regions should be mainly fine.

Wednesday and Thursday probably bring drier periods to much of the country. However, there is a risk of rain returning to the north west later on.
