Heavy showers return today

Distant shower. Posted by glynnadams68

The showery theme continues today. Once again there could be hail and thunder in places. It's a similar story tomorrow, but during Thursday more persistent outbreaks of rain push eastwards. It also turns very windy and there is a risk of gales in the south and south west.

Tuesday starts with scattered showers, but it is dry in much of the UK. Through the day showers become widespread, with the heaviest ones likely to be in southern and central counties. Some could bring hail and thunder. Northern areas have the best of the sunny spells.

Temperatures range from 12C (54F) to 16C (61F). See the rain radar for the latest view.

Outlook remains mixed

Thursday probably starts dry in much of the UK. During the morning wet and windy weather pushes into Northern Ireland, Wales and south western England. Through the afternoon it spreads eastwards across much of the UK. East Anglia and the south east may remain dry until the evening.

Friday is looking windy with showers or longer spells of rain. Gales are possible, particularly in the south west and Wales. Rather cool generally.

Showery conditions are expected to continue this weekend. Temperatures remain disappointing for the time of year.
