Cool and unsettled weather continues this weekend. Today much of the UK has showery spells of rain and there is more on the way for tomorrow. The driest and brightest periods will often be in Scotland. There is little sign of things improving next week, with further rain expected in all areas.

Chilly and unsettled outlook

Monday sees the showers focused on southern and eastern counties where they could be heavy. In the north and west it is expected to be drier and brighter. Temperatures stay below the seasonal average and it will be quite windy.

The cool and showery theme continues on Tuesday. All regions have showers or longer spells of rain.

Latest guidance from computer models is keeping things unsettled through Wednesday and Thursday. There is a possibility of it turning very wet and windy as a deep area of low pressure moves in from the Atlantic.
