Saturday begins wet and windy in most of the UK but it is still dry in much of Scotland. Through the day outbreaks of rain spread northeastwards and over the Scottish mountains they are likely to fall as sleet or snow. Drier conditions return to Northern Ireland and northern England, as well as the south east. Further heavy spells of rain push into the south west, Wales and central areas. It remains windy, particularly in coastal counties.
Temperatures range from 7C (45F) in the north to 18C (64F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.
Tonight showers continue in the north west. There will also be some rain in parts of England and Wales, but it should progressively become patchier. Much milder than recently in southern and central regions, with temperatures staying in double figures.

14 day weather forecast
Issued 5th May 2021
Tomorrow northern and western regions have a mix of sunny intervals and showers with close to average temperatures. Central and eastern England have some rain early on, but warm sunny spells are likely to develop and 21C (70F) may be reached. Later in the day heavy showers return.
During Monday heavy showers push eastwards across most areas. The south east and East Anglia may stay dry and bright. Temperatures will be close to the average and it will be quite windy.
The mixed theme continues on Tuesday and Wednesday. Showers are likely in all areas, but in southern and central England they could be quite scattered. Temperatures won't be far from the average and in sunny spells it feels warm.
Through the rest of the week there is an ongoing risk of showers or longer spells of rain. However, there should be a reasonable amount of dry weather too.
