Damp start in the south

Damp conditions in the south slowly clear today to leave bright spells in all of the UK. It remains mild but temperatures will be a little lower than in recent days. Mainly settled weather continues tomorrow and through the weekend.

Thursday starts overcast in the south and there are light outbreaks of rain in places. To the north it is a brighter picture, but there are showers in the north west. This morning the damp conditions in southern Britain gradually become confined to the south eastern corner and they may not clear fully until the middle of the afternoon. Elsewhere there will be sunny periods, but heavy showers continue in western Scotland. 

Temperatures range from 8C (46F) in the far north west to 12C (54F) in southern and central areas.

Tonight outbreaks of rain push into western and northern Scotland. The rest of the UK has a dry night with clear periods. It will be chilly with a touch of frost in places.

Tomorrow should be mainly dry. In much of the UK sunny periods develop widely. There is likely to be more cloud in Scotland, but it should become brighter through the course of the day. Temperatures remain above the seasonal average.

Mild weather continues

Saturday is looking dry and brought in much of the UK. There is a risk of thicker cloud bringing patchy rain to the north west. Ground frost is possible early in the day but temperatures rapidly climb and in the afternoon it will feel pleasant in the sun. 

The predominantly settled theme continues through Sunday and Monday. The nights will be chilly and there is a risk of patchy frost. Through the mornings temperatures quickly climb and the afternoon sunshine should feel quite warm. On Monday there is a chance of rain pushing into the south west.

Tuesday is expected to be a very mild and fine day in central and eastern Britain. In the west there is the possibility of cloudier conditions and patchy spells of rain.
