Elsewhere there will be sunny periods, but heavy showers continue in western Scotland.

Temperatures range from 8C (46F) in the far north west to 12C (54F) in southern and central areas.

The predominantly settled theme continues through Sunday and Monday. The nights will be chilly and there is a risk of patchy frost. Through the mornings temperatures quickly climb and the afternoon sunshine should feel quite warm. On Monday there is a chance of rain pushing into the south west.

Tuesday is expected to be a very mild and fine day in central and eastern Britain. In the west there is the possibility of cloudier conditions and patchy spells of rain.
