Friday starts with a widespread frost and in places there is fog too. Through the day showery rain affects northern and western Scotland. Elsewhere it should be mainly dry, although in places it could stay murky and damp with fog only lifting slowly.
Temperatures generally range from 6C (42F) in the north and west to 9C (48F) in the south. In locations where fog is slow to lift it remains colder. See the rain radar for the latest view.
Tonight outbreaks of rain push into northern and western Scotland and possibly reach Northern Ireland. There could also be some showery rain near to the south coast. Elsewhere clear spells lead to frost and fog becoming quite widespread.
