Most parts of the UK have sunny spells and showers today. Tomorrow more persistent outbreaks of rain push northeastwards. The rest of the week is looking unsettled. At times it becomes windy and there is a risk of gales. It also turns very mild in the southern half of the UK.

Wednesday starts with showers mostly in western areas but through the day they spread eastwards. The heaviest ones are likely to be in the west and south with parts of north eastern Britain remaining mainly dry. Blustery winds make it feel quite chilly.
Temperatures range from 7C (45F) in the north to 14C (57F) in the south east. See the rain radar for the latest view.
Tonight showers fade away and clear spells develop. Later on outbreaks of rain push across Northern Ireland, Wales and south western England.

Tomorrow outbreaks of rain spread northeastwards. Drier conditions follow from the southwest. Windy with the possibility of gales in parts of the north and west.
During Friday outbreaks of rain are likely in and central regions. There is uncertainty about their northern and southern extent. Much of Scotland probably has brighter conditions. Mild in southern and central Britain.
The unsettled theme continues this weekend. Wet and windy conditions are expected in much of the UK on Saturday. The extreme south east perhaps remains drier. It could also be brighter and colder in Scotland.
Further spells of rain are probable in the north and west on Sunday. Eastern areas could stay mainly dry and in brighter spells it will feel warm. Locally temperatures could nudge 19C (66F). Windy with a risk of gales.
