Sunny spells and heavy showers

Most of the UK has a mix of sunny spells and showers today. It's a similar picture tomorrow but during Tuesday more persistent outbreaks of rain push eastwards across all areas. The rest of the week looks changeable with the driest conditions in the south.

Sunday starts with showers in much of the north and west of the UK. In central and eastern England it is drier. Through the day showers become widespread and heavy. There will be sunny spells too with the best of them probably in the east. Windy in the north. 

Temperatures range from 7C (45F) in the north to 14C (57F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tomorrow brings a mix of sunny spells and heavy showers. In western and central Scotland there is a risk of more prolonged outbreaks of rain. During the afternoon it may turn drier in the west. Feeling quite cool generally.

Unsettled next week

During Tuesday outbreaks of rain steadily push northeastwards and showery conditions return to the south west. Parts of eastern Britain may remain dry until the afternoon. Temperatures will be close to the seasonal average.

Wednesday is expected to be another windy and showery day. The best of the dry and sunny spells will be in eastern Britain.

The unsettled theme continues through the rest of next week. There is the potential for it to become very windy at times.
