The weather remains unsettled this weekend and next week. Today outbreaks of rain clear eastwards and brighter conditions follow. Tomorrow wet and windy conditions push southeastwards across all of the UK. Sunday is looking showery.

Friday starts wet in much of the UK. Through the day the outbreaks of rain push eastwards and they become patchier. By mid afternoon brighter conditions should have returned to most areas but there will be showers in the north west. Quite windy.

Temperatures range from 7C (45F) in the north to 16C (61F) in the south east. See the rain radar for the latest view.

Tomorrow wet and windy weather steadily pushes southeastwards. It could stay dry in the south east until the afternoon. Brighter and showery conditions follow from the northwest. Gales are likely in coastal locations.

Unsettled next week

Sunday could start wet in the far south east but brighter conditions quickly return. Heavy showers quickly push in to northern and western areas. Through the day they spread eastwards. There could also be some rain in southern coastal counties. Windy generally.

Monday brings a mix of sunny spells and heavy showers. It will feel quite cool.

The unsettled theme continues through the rest of next week. There is the potential for it to become very windy at times.
