The weather remains unsettled across the UK during the rest of the week. All regions have periods of rain but the wettest conditions are expected to be in the north west. There is also a risk of gales. Temperatures will be higher than recently during some days, particularly in southern and central regions.

Tuesday starts wet in the north and parts of the south. This morning it turns drier in those areas but further outbreaks of rain spread into Northern Ireland. Through the afternoon they extend into western Scotland and north western England. There will also be showers in the south west. In other areas there will be bright spells.
Temperatures range from 9C (48F) in the north to a mild 18C (64F) in the south. See the rain radar for the latest view.
Tonight it remains wet in the north west of the UK. Later in the night heavy spells of rain spread northwards across southern and central regions.

Tomorrow persistent spells of rain in southern and central regions steadily clear eastwards. More showery conditions then affect the whole of the UK. Windy in the north west and south east. Temperatures close to the seasonal average in the north but mild in the south.
Thursday starts dry but showery spells of rain push eastwards during the day. Windy in the south.
During Friday a band of rain is expected to push southeastwards across all regions. Colder and showery conditions follow behind it.
The weekend is looking mixed. On Saturday wet weather is most likely in the north west. Southern and eastern areas should be mostly dry. On Sunday an area of rain probably spreads southeastwards.
The unsettled theme continues next week. There is the potential for it to become very windy or even stormy at times.
